What you can order
Options and upgrades
A pin that spins, lights up or glows gets traded first. That’s the whole game at a tournament — and most teams don’t know these are on the table until someone tells them. Here they are.
The upgrades that trade
Pick as many as you like, or none — they stack. Glitter and glow cost very little and are the best value on this page. The estimator below prices whatever combination you land on.

Spinner
A section that spins. Kids will stand there spinning it, which is exactly why it trades.

Dangler
A second small pin hanging beneath the main one. Two pins of presence for one trade.

Slider
A piece that slides across the pin to reveal something underneath.

Glitter
Glitter mixed into the enamel. Costs almost nothing and catches rink lighting from across the room. It goes on Classic and Essential (enamel) pins, not on a Signature HD pin.
Glow in the dark
Glows once the lights drop. Costs very little. An enamel effect, so it goes on enamel pins.
Blinking light
A battery-backed flashing LED. Ask us first - availability varies.
The most expensive thing on this page, and worth knowing that the battery gives out long before the pin does — it blinks for the tournament and looks good on a hockey bag or a display board for years afterwards. Teams that want the loudest pin in the bag still pick it. If you want most of the same reaction for a fraction of the cost, glow-in-the-dark is the one.
Bobblehead
A piece mounted on a small spring, so it bobbles when the pin moves.
Crystals
Small rhinestones set into the design for points of sparkle - a star, an eye, a letter.
Metal color
The color of the metal lines and edges. Gold or silver is standard; choose black nickel, antique gold, antique silver, antique bronze, copper, rainbow, metal dyed in a team color, or two metals on one pin.
Hinge
A small door on the pin that opens to show a hidden picture inside.
Magnet back
A magnet on the back instead of the pin post.
Engraved back
The back of each pin engraved - numbered ("27 of 300"), or with a player’s name or number. We ask for the names or numbers after you order.
Sizes
Measured across the widest point. Going bigger buys detail and presence on the hockey bag or the display board; going smaller stretches the budget over a bigger roster.
There is no separate “oversized” option to tick. A big pin is just a bigger size — pick the one you want from the list and the price follows.
- 1"
- Lapel size - a small pin for a big roster or a keepsake.
- 1.25"
- Stretches a budget over a big roster, but it trades like a small pin.
- 1.5"
- The old standard. Still widely ordered, though less than it used to be.
- 1.75"
- A step up that costs very little more. Noticeably better on a hockey bag.
- 2"
- Room for a real mascot and your team name.
- 2.25"
- Big enough that other teams ask about it before they trade for it.
- 2.5"
- A serious pin. Carries a shaped silhouette and a spinner comfortably.
- 2.75"
- Detail at this size holds up in a photograph, not just in the hand.
- 3"
- A centerpiece pin - big enough that other teams come looking for it.
- 3.25"
- Large-format. Usually a shaped design rather than a round one.
- 3.5"
- The size associations pick for a host or anniversary pin.
- 4"
- A display piece as much as a trading pin.
- 4.5"
- Ordered for tournaments and milestones, in larger runs.
- 5"
- Quoted as standard in larger runs.
- 5.5"
- Oversized - a display piece or a team centerpiece.
- 6"
- A centerpiece or display pin. Larger pins, up to 8 inches, are quoted by hand.
Each circle shows its size across, to scale against the others. On a phone they show smaller than the real thing.
Styles
Best first. Signature HD carries every shade, so it is the one for art with painted shading, gradients or photo detail. Classic, our hard enamel, is the standard for logos, mascots and bold designs. Essential, soft enamel, is the classic trading pin, for a tighter budget.
- Signature HD
- Our best: every shade and detail comes through, for art with painted shading, gradients or photo detail.
- Our best. Every shade and detail comes through, so blends, shading and fine detail stay as they are - a painted sky, a photograph, a watercolor a kid did. Logos, mascots and bold designs are made as Classic. Enamel needs a raised metal line between every color, which is why that kind of art comes back looking fenced-off in enamel. Glitter and glow in the dark are enamel effects, so they go on Classic and Essential pins.
- Classic
- Hard enamel. Our standard: a smooth, polished finish, recommended for logos and classic designs.
- A smooth, polished finish, with the color filling each area between the metal lines. The one we recommend for logos and classic designs.
- Essential
- Soft enamel. For tighter budgets: raised metal lines, the classic trading pin.
- Raised metal lines with recessed color you can feel. The classic trading pin, for tighter budgets.
